News Note
The Loudoun Symphonic Winds has received a grant from
the Virginia Commission on the Arts for giving performances at retirement
communities in Loudoun County. The Loudoun Community Band, Inc., is grateful
for this support. But it's a matching grant, which means that to get the full
value of the grant, the band must come up with an equal amount from other
sources. Now is therefore an excellent time to make a tax-deductible gift to
the Loudoun Community Band, Inc.--your gift dollar will mean two dollars in
support of this important service to Loudoun's appreciative seniors. Please
contact Rick Denney at
president@lcbandinc.org to arrange a gift of any size, or stop by our
donation desk at any concert.

Rehearsals
Most all rehearsals of the Loudoun Symphonic Winds are held on Tuesday evenings at 7:30
PM, at Park View High School in Sterling, Virginia. The address is 400 W. Laurel Avenue,
about five blocks northwest of Sterling Boulevard south of Route 7. Rehearsals are held in
the Band Room, at the back of the school. (Rehearsals are usually not held on the Tuesdays
following season concerts.)
Who We Are
The Loudoun Symphonic Winds has become one of the area's most exciting musical
ensembles since its formation in 1993. Our goal is to give the Loudoun community and its
neighbors an opportunity to play and hear the best of yesterday's and today's concert band
music. In the footsteps of great bands from Sousa to the Eastman Wind Ensemble, LSW's
members and Principal Conductor Gil Corella give you a spectrum of music from classic
marches to Broadway songs to holiday favorites. The band showcases new compositions from
the best of today's band composers and brings you exciting guest soloists. The Loudoun
Symphonic Winds has entertained and delighted audiences from Richmond to Baltimore. In
addition to our concert series and travel concerts, the Band and its ensembles perform as
part of major local events such as the Babe Ruth World Series, the Neale Concert Series,
4th of July Celebrations at the Barns at Franklin Park and at Lansdowne Resort, and the
Bluemont Concert Series.
